The Columbia Law School student will provide legal representation and medical advocacy to detained immigrants.

The Law School’s Jagdish Bhagwati Fellowship, underwritten by the Indian government, supports graduate students specializing in international trade, trade law, public interest, and human rights. 2020–2021 recipient Mishra is devoting his year at Columbia Law to developing his expertise in multilateral trade treaties and international trade dispute settlement.

The fellows are pursuing projects that are as innovative as they are relevant to society and the world—from protecting financially vulnerable consumers from exploitation and predatory practices to educating a new generation of LGBTQ lawyers in India.

The Jagdish Bhagwati Fellowship, underwritten by the Indian government, supports graduate students at Columbia Law School who wish to specialize in the study of international trade, trade law, public interest, and human rights.

Alexandra Studwell ’19 will join the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services with support from Jim Millstein ’82 and Ira M. Millstein ’49.
