Members of the J.D. Class of 2028 and the LL.M. Class of 2026 began their Columbia Law School journeys with information sessions, community building, and plenty of socializing. 

Since the summer of 1985, hundreds of Columbia Law students have developed their human rights lawyering skills during fully funded summer internships overseas.

Cheers of pride and tears of joy greeted J.D., LL.M., E.LL.M., and J.S.D. students, who—along with their families and friends—celebrated graduation at the Law School’s 2025 Class Day ceremony, featuring a keynote address by former Montana Governor Steve Bullock ’94.

The year-long competition culminated with finalists Miles Kim ’25, Nicole Morote ’25, Alice Park ’25, and Akesh Shah ’25 arguing before a panel of judges. Morote won the prize for top oralist, and Kim won for best final-round brief.

Students gain experience organizing a day of academic discourse and working with scholars on original pieces for an upcoming issue of the Law Review dedicated to works generated by the symposium.

Law and business students learn to combine legal expertise and financial trading skills—and face a Shark Tank-style final project.

New school, new friends, new dean: Members of the J.D. Class of 2027 and the LL.M. Class of 2025 met Dean Daniel Abebe and each other at orientation activities featuring welcome speeches, information sessions, and plenty of food. 

Columbia Law School’s Class of 2024—including J.D., LL.M., E.LL.M., and J.S.D. students—celebrate their achievements at a Class Day ceremony featuring remarks from U.S. Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke ’00. 

The Columbia Law School graduate, now a federal judicial clerk, will work on impact litigation for families involved in child welfare investigations as part of her fellowship.
