The fellowships enable students to pursue their LL.M. degrees at Columbia Law and expand their expertise in their chosen fields.

As part of her fellowship, which she will begin following her graduation from Columbia Law in May, Morgan will represent workers, especially women, seeking paid family leave benefits.

Members of the J.D. Class of 2028 and the LL.M. Class of 2026 began their Columbia Law School journeys with information sessions, community building, and plenty of socializing. 

Since the summer of 1985, hundreds of Columbia Law students have developed their human rights lawyering skills during fully funded summer internships overseas.

Cheers of pride and tears of joy greeted J.D., LL.M., E.LL.M., and J.S.D. students, who—along with their families and friends—celebrated graduation at the Law School’s 2025 Class Day ceremony, featuring a keynote address by former Montana Governor Steve Bullock ’94.

The year-long competition culminated with finalists Miles Kim ’25, Nicole Morote ’25, Alice Park ’25, and Akesh Shah ’25 arguing before a panel of judges. Morote won the prize for top oralist, and Kim won for best final-round brief.

Students gain experience organizing a day of academic discourse and working with scholars on original pieces for an upcoming issue of the Law Review dedicated to works generated by the symposium.
