Columbia Law School announces the creation of an endowed professorship in honor of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ’59, along with two new scholarships in her name. 

In 2018, the Law School commissioned a custom lace collar to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the investiture of Ruth Bader Ginsburg ’59 to the United States Supreme Court. Elena Kanagy-Loux of the Brooklyn Lace Guild created the intricate custom pattern mirroring the interlocking 25s that appear on the Law School’s commemorative book.

The revered Supreme Court justice maintained deep ties throughout her life to Columbia Law School, where she graduated tied for first in her class and later became the first woman to be a tenured member of the faculty.

After risking his life to desegregate Ole Miss in 1962, Meredith continued his activism at Columbia Law School.
