Columbia Law School Francophone Society

The Columbia Law School Francophone Society promotes the culture, legal system and current legal issues of francophone countries by organizing academic, cultural, professional and social events within the Columbia Law School community. We encourage contacts between members of the francophone community and Columbia Law School community and we assist our members, regardless of their background or nationality, in seeking or considering undertaking professional or academic experiences in francophone countries by liaising with francophone learning, professional, and governmental institutions. Finally, we assist and mentor incoming Columbia Law School students, in particular those coming from francophone countries, with francophone ancestries or those with a particular interest in the culture of francophone countries.

Columbia Law School International Refugee Assistance Project

IRAP is a global legal aid and advocacy organization working to create a world where refugees and all people seeking safety are empowered to claim their right to freedom of movement and a path to lasting refuge. At Columbia, we hope to work with global IRAP to support this work through student research and direct services projects. In addition, we hope to raise awareness in the broader Law School community about the legal and ethical issues surrounding refugee and immigrant rights.

Columbia Law School Israel Organization (CLIO)

CLIO is an inclusive community of students dedicated to Israel's right to exist as a Jewish and democratic state. We encompass a diverse set of backgrounds, political and religious beliefs, and professional interests with a dynamic understanding of Zionism. Our events are open to all law students and focus on Israeli law, culture, society, and history.

Columbia Law School Legal Outreach Team

Columbia Law School Legal Outreach Team (LOT) provides material aid and forges legal connections for unhoused neighbors in Harlem and Morningside Heights. Through weekly client outreach and partnering with like-minded organizations, LOT helps our most vulnerable neighbors get the justice they deserve.

Columbia Law School Legal Tech Association

CLS Legal Tech is a student-led organization that aims to centralize and develop education, community and innovation in the field of legal technology. CLS Legal Tech achieves its mission by hosting lunch talks, panel discussions, workshops and field trips in relation to various areas of legal technology.

Columbia Law School Mexican Association

Columbia Law School Mexican Association attempts to bring Mexican culture closer to Columbia Law School by sponsoring academic, professional, social, and community service activities. The association serves as a liaison between members and the administration, alumni, professionals, and students. It also strives to create a sense of community among Mexican students and students of Mexican heritage as well as those interested in Mexican culture.

Columbia Law School Military Association (CLSMA)

The Columbia Law School Military Association is a non-political, nonpartisan social group whose purpose is to promote camaraderie and networking among Columbia Law School military veterans and civilian students, to explore and develop local veteran-related volunteer and pro bono opportunities, and to stimulate thoughtful discussion about the military and its role in modern society. Military service is not a prerequisite for membership.

Columbia Law School Public Defender Students

CLS Public Defender Students is a professional development community for students pursuing careers in all areas of public defense, including criminal, immigration, prisoners' rights, and civil defense.PDS hosts info sessions with current students to share information about classes, externships, and summer jobs, and facilitates individual connections between students to discuss experiences at different offices. PDS also brings public defenders to speak with students on campus.

Columbia Law School Run Club

The purpose of the group is to maximize mental and physical health and overall utility via the dynamic and empowering sport of running. We help students manage stress, maintain balance, and connect with one another outside the classroom. The club is a way to build friendships and create a stronger sense of community around a healthy and accessible activity.

Columbia Law School Soccer Club (CLSSC) is a community for players and fans of soccer at the Law School. We host weekly pickup soccer, competitive matches against other law schools, and soccer-related social events.
