Section Description
This course concerns the principal elements of the civil litigation process. Our topics will include the major phases of a lawsuit in federal court, with an emphasis on pretrial adjudication; remedies such as injunctions and punitive damages; the court's jurisdiction over certain parties and over certain kinds of cases; and the effects of prior adjudication. Special attention will be given to the evolving law of class actions.
