Section Description
This class is a comprehensive trial practice course. Accordingly, the focus will be on developing trial skills and actually practicing trial techniques. It will teach crucial trial skills, including making effective opening statements and closing arguments, introducing evidence, conducting effective direct and cross examinations, as well as objecting to witnesses' testimony and the introduction of evidence. The text for the class will be a book authored by the professor. The class' emphasis is on students performing simulated trial exercises. Thus, each student will spend time on their feet, in a simulated courtroom setting, actually performing various trial skills. Each student will be given a constructive critique by the professor. Each student will also receive feedback from other students and reflect on their performances.
