Former VP Joe Biden to Deliver Remarks at Columbia Law’s Virtual Graduation

The former vice president will address the J.D. and LL.M. graduates of the Class of 2020 in May.

New York, April 22, 2020—Joseph R. Biden Jr., the 47th vice president of the United States, will deliver remarks during Columbia Law School’s online graduation ceremony on May 20, 2020.

In making the announcement, Columbia Law School Dean Gillian Lester said, “Vice President Joe Biden is synonymous with public service. His enduring and exemplary career as a leader, lawyer, and public servant sets an example for our students as they prepare to begin their own course as legal professionals.”

In addition, Professor Bert Huang, an expert on torts, civil procedure, and courts and the legal process, will receive the 2020 Willis L.M. Reese Prize for Excellence in Teaching, awarded by the graduating class.

The ceremony will premiere on Columbia Law School’s YouTube channel at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
