John V. Jacobi is the Dorothea Dix Professor of Health Law & Policy at Seton Hall Law School, adjunct professor at Seton Hall/HMH Medical School, adjunct professor of health law at NYU Law School, and (in 2024) Visiting Professor of Health Law at Columbia Law School. Professor Jacobi’s teaching and scholarship is in the areas of Health Finance, Insurance, and Access; Health Equity, Mental Health Law; and Disability Law. He has been principal investigator on many grant-funded projects on topics including behavioral health integration, mental health parity, supportive housing, and health insurance reform. He been in state government service in the New Jersey Department of the Public Advocate and the Office of Counsel to the Governor of New Jersey, and serves on government advisory panels, on mental health and health finance. He serves on the boards of nonprofit organizations dedicated to health equity, health access, and diversity and inclusion in health care.
