Nov 2025
30

The Human Rights Internship (HRIP) application for summer 2026 opens October 31 and closes November 30, 2025.

HRIP supports Columbia J.D. students who want to work in the human rights field over the summer and who have a substantial interest in the postgraduate practice of human rights law. Students participating in HRIP engage in intensive experiential learning in international human rights legal practice abroad. After receiving preparatory training and orientation throughout the spring semester, interns spend the summer working with international human rights organizations. More information.

HRIP applicants must also complete the 1L CSF Registration Checklist.

If you have any questions about finding internship placements, please feel free to schedule an appointment with HRIP Associate Director Kristi Ueda via Symplicity. If you have any questions about the logistics of the program, you may contact HRIP Coordinator Renny Jiang at [email protected].

HRIP is administered by the Office of Public Interest/Public Service Laws and Careers (the PI/PS Office).
