Tenants’ Rights Project (TRP)

The Tenants’ Rights Project seeks to identify and fulfill legal services needs for New York City tenants and partner with community groups in Harlem to promote housing justice in the local community. It also functions as a space for participants to discuss housing policy and direct services in New York City and beyond through on- and off-campus events.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is an IRS initiative designed to support free tax preparation services for underserved communities. The Columbia Law VITA chapter provides students with tax training and support to obtain their IRS certifications. Through partnerships with community organizations, student volunteers meet pro bono needs and promote financial empowerment in the local community.
