Section Description
This reading group will provide students with a holistic understanding of lawyering for justice, with a focus on key substantive issues, theories, and strategies for change-making. The course will empower students to understand a cross-section of substantive areas of justice-oriented lawyering, as well as key legal tools and approaches to advocacy. The role of impacted communities, the intersectional nature of justice-oriented advocacy, and the importance of collaboration will be themes in every session. Faculty may also address the issue of how changes in our courts, laws, or political environment affect approaches to advocacy.
