Section Description

Exploring the birth and breadth of modern First Amendment jurisprudence, this course examines the evolution of the constitutional right of freedom of speech and press in the United States, addressing case law on extremist or seditious speech, hate speech, obscenity, libel, fighting words, symbolic speech, the public forum doctrine, campaign finance, and public access to the mass media.
