Section Description

The Reproductive Justice seminar will introduce students to some of the most important and challenging legal and policy questions surrounding the struggles to both defend and expand reproductive justice in the U.S. The class will introduce students to the differences between notions of reproductive rights and reproductive justice; the legal framing of struggles for access to contraception, abortion, and other reproductive health care; the histories of forced sterilization, particularly of women of color; and the reproductive justice movement’s articulation of a right to nurture children in a safe and healthy environment.
