Section Description
Health law encompasses matters of life and death, human dignity, and personal autonomy. This course will survey the sense in which there is (or should be) an enforceable “right” to health or health care, and the public and private health insurance systems that do (or could) facilitate improvements in health status. It will also address antidiscrimination laws’ effects on access to health services, the legal framework of patients’ relationships with caregivers, and the law’s presence in very personal spaces including the end of life and access to reproductive services including abortion.
