Section Description
This course is intended for students who wish to deepen their understanding of the empirical study of inequality and discrimination. We will learn to develop empirical research questions and how to use experimental, quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. We will explore the interrelations across law, societies and markets and the ways in which they generate, maintain, legitimize, and reduce inequality. We will focus on the three levels in which inequality and discrimination operate: the micro level (individual people, their preferences, and behaviors); the macro level (markets and legal institutions); and the meso level (social groups and families).
This will be a short course - last 6 weeks of the Spring semester.
