Professor Suzanne Goldberg on Same-Sex Marriage Cases at U.S. Supreme Court

The lawsuits challenge laws that define marriage as between a man and a woman.

New York, December 10, 2012—The U.S Supreme Court has agreed to review two same-sex marriage lawsuits, United States v. Windsor and Perry v. Brown, that challenge the federal Defense of Marriage Act and California’s voter-approved same-sex marriage ban, respectively.

Watch a video of Suzanne B. Goldberg, Herbert and Doris Wechsler Clinical Professor of Law, director of the Law School's Sexuality and Gender Law Clinic, and co-director of the Center for Gender and Sexuality Law, discuss the legal implications of the cases on CBS This Morning.

The Law School's clinic submitted amicus briefs in both cases at earlier stages in the litigation.
