Newly Formed Public Interest/Public Service Council Holds Inaugural Gathering

On January 29, members of Columbia Law School’s Public Interest/Public Service Council officially convened for the first time.

Over the past two years, Social Justice Initiatives has focused on enhancing programming and implementing new initiatives aimed at building a deeper culture of public service throughout the Law School community. The Public Interest/Public Service Council, launched in 2019, comprises nearly 75 alumni, all of whom are experts and leaders (past and present) in the public interest and government sectors, both in the U.S. and abroad. Through events and one-on-one information sessions, members are available to counsel students and graduates about the wide range of opportunities and career trajectories in the public sector.
