MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ Hosts Talk Politics With Columbia Law School Students

New York, November 17, 2014—Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, the hosts of MSNBC’s popular “Morning Joe” talk show, drew a standing-room only crowd when they appeared at Columbia Law School to discuss politics with students on Election Day.

The pair, who spoke as part of the Henry Schneider Speaker Series, riffed on the news and also offered substantive commentary on the U.S. political climate, including early indications of what would be a very successful showing for Republicans’ in the midterm elections. On their show, Scarborough and Brzezinski interview top newsmakers and politicians and provide in-depth analysis of each day’s biggest stories.

Scarborough, a Republican and former congressman from Florida, said his party has to do more if it wants to succeed in the long term.
 
“Republicans can’t just be against Barack Obama for two more years,” he said. “If they do, they’ll lose the election in 2016.”
 
Brzezinski and Scarborough also answered questions from students on everything from gun control to campaign finance laws.
