Columbia Law School Adjunct Professor Jack B. Jacobs to Retire from Delaware Supreme Court
Jacobs Co-Teaches an Innovative Course on Decision-Making in Litigation with Professor John C. Coffee Jr
New York, April 2, 2014—Delaware Supreme Court Justice Jack B. Jacobs, a member of the Columbia Law School adjunct faculty who co-teaches a popular course on strategic decision-making in litigation, has announced his retirement from the Delaware Supreme Court effective July 4.

Jacobs co-teaches Corporations in Court: Strategic Decision-Making in Major Litigation, a seminar with Columbia Law School Professor John C. Coffee Jr. that teaches students the way each decision in corporate and securities cases can change the odds and reshape the playing field. The innovative course, launched in 2009 when Jacobs joined the adjunct faculty, is built around discussions with judges and attorneys from major cases in the Delaware Chancery Court and the Southern District of New York.
In 2011, along with Coffee and William Savitt ’97, Jacobs was a co-chair of a major Columbia Law School conference examining key developments at the Delaware Court of Chancery under former chancellor William B. Chandler III and the future of the country’s leading business court.
