A(nother) Great Day for Giving

Thanks to the generous support of the Law School community, Giving Day 2020 was a resounding success, exceeding last year’s record-breaking Giving Day effort by 64%.

On October 28—Columbia Giving Day—alumni, faculty, staff, students, and friends joined to support and celebrate Columbia Law School. The record-breaking, 24-hour fundraising initiative resulted in 929 gifts and more than $2.3 million confirmed in support of the Annual Fund—a 21% increase in the number of gifts and a 64% increase in donations over last year.

Spirited and inspiring challenges, which earned additional funds from the university trustees, motivated fundraising throughout the day. The Law School raised more money than any other graduate and professional school at Columbia and ranked fourth among all participating units by alumni participation. It won social media challenges, including the “Cutest Pet Post,” the “Origami Challenge,” and the digital “Student Thank You” to donors.

Ultimately, the community not only surpassed the 2019 Giving Day gift tally by 164 gifts, but also demonstrated its resilience and unwavering commitment to Columbia Law.

Thank You to All Our Donors
