Social Justice Initiatives Announces 2019 International Public Interest Fellowship Recipients

Alumni will “bring justice to communities in need around the world.”

Columbia Law School has a long tradition of training students for careers in public service and public interest. The office of Social Justice Initiatives (SJI) offers comprehensive guidance and support to students who seek positions serving the public good, both in the United States and abroad. SJI also administers several post-graduate fellowships, including those that provide funding for Columbia Law graduates to launch careers focused on international human rights and public service.

“The students who have received international fellowships this year have accomplished so much already. They are a truly impressive group of applicants,” says SJI Dean Erica Smock ’95. “And the work they will do during their fellowships ranges from bringing justice to communities in need around the world, to clerking on international courts, to working at international human rights organizations. They are shining examples of just how far Columbia’s reach is.”

Meet some of this year’s dedicated fellows.
