The Annual Fund is the unsung hero of the budget. It stands apart from other gifts because it is available for immediate use, allowing the Dean to proactively bring new ideas to life and to deepen the programs we already offer.
“I give to the Annual Fund because of its immediate impact. It allows the Dean to be responsive in real-time to a rapidly changing educational environment and to pursue strategic priorities for the longer term as well, There is not an aspect of life at Columbia Law School … that is Annual Fund does not touch and make better.”

These gifts provide the Dean with the flexibility to fund urgent and immediate needs of the Law School, supporting Columbia Law School’s strength and dynamism and reinforcing our position as one of the leading centers for legal education in the world.
A gift to support faculty helps the Law School recruit and retain the world’s foremost legal scholars, invest in their research and teaching, and bring to campus outstanding visiting professors and guest lecturers from around the world.
The Law School remains committed to ensuring that the very best students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds can have access to the finest legal education in the world. Today, nearly two-thirds of Columbia Law students receive financial aid.
