Sonya Mirbagheri Cheney

Sonya Mirbagheri Cheney serves as the Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Deputy Compliance Officer for CBS Corporation. In that role, she advises all business units on legal and compliance matters, conducts internal investigations, drafts Company policies, implements training courses, conducts in-person trainings, and manages outside counsel in both litigation and compliance matters. Sonya is also a member of the CBS Privacy Council, the CBS Law Diversity Committee, and the Global Advisory Board of the Women in Law Empowerment Forum.

Prior to joining CBS, Sonya was an associate in the New York office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and a member of the firm’s Women’s Advisory Council. Sonya earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and President of the Student Senate, and her B.A. with honors from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.
