Michael Louis Fox

Michael L. Fox is Associate Professor of Business Law and Chair of the School of Business at Mount Saint Mary College, in Orange County, New York. He is also a former Coordinator of the Business Graduate (MBA) Program.  He teaches courses in the undergraduate business program, and the MBA program. Professor Fox received his J.D. from Columbia, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and an Articles Editor on the Columbia Business Law Review. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University, Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude, with a major in Economics and minor in Biology. Fox was a legal practitioner prior to academia, and remains AV-Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is admitted to practice in New York State, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York, the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.  He served as a law clerk to Hon. Lawrence E. Kahn, U.S. District Judge, in the Northern District of New York; worked as a litigation associate at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, in Manhattan; and was, sequentially, an associate, senior counsel, and then partner, and litigation managing attorney at Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP, in New York’s Hudson Valley. Fox is the author of two books: Primer for an Evolving eWorld, forthcoming Third Edition (Kendall Hunt Publishing Co. 2019, 2020, 2023) and A Guide to Diversity & Inclusion in the 21st Century WorkplaceSecond Edition (N.Y. St. Bar Assoc. Publ. 2020, 2021). He has also authored or co-authored articles and CLEs, and has spoken at numerous symposia and CLE programs, concerning Federal civil procedure, attorney-client privilege and work product, electronic discovery, evidence, professional responsibility and ethics, employment law, diversity/equity & inclusion, and advice for pre-law students. When not engaged in scholarly or professional endeavors, he is also an avid traveler, having thus far visited 34 countries and territories across six continents, as well as 35 states in the United States.
