Leia Squillace

Leia Squillace is a theatrical director and artist activist whose work centers community-building and explores themes of radical humanization. She takes on projects that challenge her and her audience to find commonality and humanity where it may be least expected. She has designed community engagement programming for Roundabout Theatre Company and Asolo Repertory Theatre and facilitated theatre workshops with the Prison Creative Arts Project. Previously, Leia co-founded Herd, a female-driven, environmentally sustainable theatre company, and served as the Director of Strategic Arts Engagement for The Confined Arts at Columbia University's Center for Justice. Leia currently serves as the Associate Director of Curriculum and Industry Initiatives and for the Broadway Advocacy Coalition. leiasquillace.com
