The Human Rights Institute proudly presents our Fall event series, Legal Machinery of Repression: a series that brings together voices revealing how repression leaves traces of defiance, memory, and testimony that outlive the machinery itself.
This series is co-sponsored by: Columbia Law Students Human Rights Association, Columbia Journal of Transnational Law, and the Columbia Human Rights Law Review.
Third Event - "They Took Us”: Detention and Torture
Join us for the third event in the series, which brings together powerful voices of activists who are confronting state abuse through their courage and advocacy. This conversation will shed light on the realities of detention without trial, enforced disappearances, and torture, practices that continue to silence dissent and violate fundamental human rights. Through their stories, we will explore the fight for justice, accountability, and the preservation of human dignity.
