Public Interest Monday: Money Matters

Oct 2025
6

Sometimes the easiest way to figure out how to finance a public interest career is to hear how CLS graduates are making a living doing what they love. Alumni will share stories, salaries, and resources that helped them with loans, jobs, LRAP, and money. Email questions to Grace Shim ([email protected]) ahead of time and we will try to answer them at the session.

Panelists include:

  • Amanda Cabal ’22, Staff Attorney, Second Circuit Court of Appeals
  • Chris Helwig ’17, Managing Attorney, Civil Defense Practice, Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem
  • Katie Coulson ’16, Assistant District Attorney, New York County District Attorney's Office

Lunch will be served—register in advance to prevent food waste. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options will be available. If you have any other dietary requirements, please email us at least five business days before the event.

Presented by the Offices of Financial Aid (OFA) and Public Interest/Public Service Law and Careers (the PI/PS Office).
