Examine how lawyers confront the harms of policing, prosecution, incarceration, detention, and surveillance. Speakers will discuss the many roles lawyers can play in pursuing accountability, from defending individuals and supporting community-led reform to bringing civil rights cases and impact litigation.

The Practice of Justice: Public Interest Lawyering in Action series invites students to explore how lawyers turn values into action across some of today’s most urgent justice issues. Join the PI/PS Office for seven sessions that will bring together practitioners working in direct services, government, impact litigation, human rights, public international law, and civil rights practice. Panelists will share about their career paths, discuss the advocacy tools and strategies that they utilize in their work, and answer questions from students about how to get involved in public interest lawyering. These sessions are designed to provide an overview of different career paths within public interest lawyering and are open to students of all years.
