International Study Information Session

Thinking about a semester studying Law in Amsterdam, Paris, Beijing, Rio, or elsewhere? 

Did you know you could spend your 3L year abroad and earn an LL.M. from a partner law school in London, Paris or Frankfurt all while counting the credits toward your JD from Columbia? 

1Ls and 2Ls are invited to join the Office of International Programs at an Information and Q & A Session to learn more about Columbia Law School’s International Semester, Global Alliance and Dual Degree Programs.

Many of our programs around the world are conducted in English. (Credits count as regular Law School in-classroom credits.)  Discover the range of options available to you at this general information session.

Applying for International Study

The application for study abroad will be available online from November 25, 2026 to February 7, 2027. Advance application addenda for Independent Semester Programs are due December 31, 2026. Students may apply for Semester Study or Global Alliance programs for the 2027-28 academic year or for International Dual Degree programs for the 2028-2029 academic year.

Please note: Only students in their 1L year can apply for international dual degree programs that entail spending the 3L year abroad, so they can plan their 2L year accordingly.
