Interested in competing in the Harlan Fiske Stone Moot Court Competition? Join us for an information session to learn more about the competition and the opportunity to participate in one of Columbia Law School’s premier appellate advocacy programs.
The Stone Moot Court Competition is a three-round elimination competition in appellate advocacy. During the fall qualifying round, students brief one of two issues on behalf of either the appellant or appellee and present oral arguments before panels of alumni practitioners and professors. Competitors advance to the spring semifinal round based on their brief and oral argument scores before four finalist are chosen to compete in the final round on April 1, 2027.
This session will cover the competition structure, eligibility, timeline, and what students can expect as competitors.
Open to 2Ls and 3Ls. Lunch will be provided to attendees!
