Government Fellowships Info Session

Oct 2026
14

Join Professor Briffault and Alex Hogan, PI/PS Office director of government programs, to learn about three exciting fellowship opportunities for after graduation: the Millstein Government Service and Financial Regulation Fellowships and the Excelsior Service Fellowship. Past fellows will join.

Both Millstein Fellowships fund one year of work within the federal executive or legislative branch. A Government Service Fellow can be placed in any legal position within those branches, but a Financial Regulation Fellow must do work related to financial regulation.

The Excelsior Fellowship places recipients in New York State government for two years. Excelsior Fellows play a policy-influencing role, with the opportunity to focus on the most pressing issues of the day. Historically, Columbia has awarded three Excelsiors per year.

Lunch provided—register in advance to help us prevent food waste. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options will be available. Email us if you have additional dietary requirements; advance notice is appreciated.

Presented by the Office of Public Interest/Public Service Law and Careers (The PI/PS Office).
