The Human Rights Institute invites you to a co-sponsored event titled, "Global Sports, Human Rights Violations, and Available Remedies Under International Law: The Case of the United Arab Emirates (UAE)."
This event will include a panel of experts from global civil society and academia will examine the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) efforts to “sportswash” their country’s horrendous human rights record at home and abroad, including its alleged supply of weapons to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan.
Moderated by leading sports journalist Thymoté Pinon, the panel will address the human rights situation in and around the UAE, the international legal standards that should inform global sports and the direct experiences of victims/survivors of arbitrary detentions in the UAE.
