While the E.U. fined Google for allegedly favoring its own shopping results, the U.S. concluded that these results benefited consumers and were lawful. Michael will explore the reasons behind these different outcomes.

Michael Lawrence is an antitrust counselor and litigator with more than 20 years of in-house experience at leading technology companies. He joined Google in 2011 and serves as Senior Competition Counsel. He advises major business units and has defended the company in high-stakes antitrust investigations and lawsuits worldwide. Before joining Google, Michael was a competition lawyer at Intel Corp. He began his legal career as an associate at Latham & Watkins.
