Enhanced LRAP Fellowships are awarded to Columbia Law School J.D. students who have demonstrated dedication to and exceptional promise for leadership in public interest law. These fellowships cover all loans up to the cost of law school tuition for fellows whose annual income does not exceed $100,000. They include the Lowenstein Fellowship, Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossman LLP Fellowship, and Berger Fellowship.

In 2025, Columbia Law School is offering the Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossman LLP Fellowship and the Lowenstein Fellowship. The deadline to apply is June 15, 2025.

NOTE: Open to Columbia Law School J.D. students and graduates only. Applicants must be either members of the current J.D. class or members of the last three J.D. classes who are currently clerking for a federal or state judge as their first postgraduate employment. Do not apply if you are 1) a member of the current J.D. class who will be serving a clerkship immediately after graduation or 2) a current clerk who has committed to serve another clerkship at the end of your present position. Rather, graduates who meet either criterion may apply in the spring before the end of their clerkships.

The 2025 application will be posted on the Columbia Law School postgraduate fellowships page by spring 2025.

The application and selection process for these fellowships is adminstered by the Office of Public Interest/Public Service Law and Careers (the PI/PS Office).
