Deadline to apply for Independent International Study

Independent Study Abroad Addendum for the 2026-27 academic year must be submitted to the Office of International Programs on or prior to December 31, 2025!  

1. Students who wish to propose their own “independent” single-semester program at a non-partner school in the 2026-2027 academic year must submit our Independent Study Abroad Addendum (PDF download) by December 31, 2025. Send the completed addendum form to [email protected].
    
2. The Addendum may require substantial research, and the process should be started well in advance.  Students submitting the Independent Addendum must also submit the regular Study Abroad Application--which is open now and closes on February 8, 2026--and may use it to apply for other established programs at the same time. The form permits up to 3 choices, in order of preference.
    
3. One-semester independent programs at ITAM in Mexico City or U. Cape Town in South Africa are “pre-approved”, meaning only the Addendum’s first page needs to be submitted, also by the December 31 deadline.
    
4. The Law School is currently reviewing the basis on which a very limited number of students can study for a semester in London.  Students interested in an independent semester in London should submit an Independent Addendum by the December 31 deadline, but without any assurance that such options will be available. Stay tuned for updates.  (If you are including London, you can make clear whether applying to Kings or SOAS or both on your app, but do not list as two separate choices even if interested in both London possibilities.)
