Artificial intelligence systems use algorithms to analyze data and create outputs. However, in doing so, there is a risk that an algorithm can be biased and use data in ways prohibited by anti-discrimination laws. Kinara Flagg ’11 of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division and Olga Akselrod of the ACLU will discuss their work to counter algorithmic discrimination.
