3L Deadline: Complete AND Record Pro Bono Hours in Order to Graduate

Mar 2026
1

All 3Ls must complete 40 hours of qualifying pro bono service AND record those hours in LawNet by March 1, 2025, in order to graduate from the Law School. Failure to do so will prevent your from graduating in May. (There will be a slight deadline extension for 3Ls who participate in a 2026 spring break caravan trip. Information on the extension will be shared with caravan participants directly.)

NOTE: Your hours must not only completed but also recorded in LawNet by March 1.

How to Record Your Completed Pro Bono Hours in LawNet

  • Find the organization at which your served your hours using the "Pro Bono Search" feature on LawNet and submit an exit questionnaire and supervisor report.

  • If you do not locate the organization on LawNet, submit a student-initiated petition to have the organization added. Upon petition approval, submit the exit questionnaire and supervisor report.

  • Once both the exit questionnaire and supervisor report are approved, your hours will be recorded. Please note: submitting a student initiated petition does not officially register your hours into LawNet.

Need a pro bono plan?
Please schedule a meeting with Assistant Director of Pro Bono and Summer Preparation Estelle Mitchell for guidance on your plans to complete your pro bono hours.
