Is parking available?
Parking in the Morningside Heights area can be difficult. We strongly encourage you to use public transportation. However, limited parking is available in the vicinity of the Alfred J. Lerner Hall (115th Street and Broadway Avenue) as listed below. You may also check nyc.bestparking.com for parking garages in the neighborhood (often with discounts or coupons).

How do I get to the Columbia campus on public transportation?
The 1 train stops at the Columbia University station at West 116th Street and Broadway It also stops at both Pennsylvania Station (34th Street) and the Port Authority Bus Terminal (42nd Street). From Grand Central Station subway shuttle service (the S-train) is available to Times Square, where it is possible to transfer to the 1.

Four bus lines (M4, M11, M60, M104) stop in the Morningside Heights neighborhood at 116th. The M60 bus is a direct link between campus and LaGuardia Airport.

Yellow taxis can be flagged from most city streets at any time of the day or night. In addition, Boro Taxis can be flagged in the outer boroughs and in Manhattan above 96th Street. They are recognizable by their apple-green color.

A New York City wheelchair-accessible taxi can be requested by calling the 311 operators; calling the dispatch center directly at 646-599-9999; texting a request to 646-400-0789; using the mobile app Wheels on Wheels; or ordering online.

Rideshare apps connect you with a professional driver for door-to-door car service. Visit Uber or Lyft for more information.

Citi Bike is New York City’s bike-share system, with stations located throughout Morningside Heights and near Columbia’s campuses. Citi Bike offers short-term passes for visitors and annual memberships for frequent riders, including pedal-assist electric bikes. Bikes can be unlocked and paid for by using the Lyft app. See Citi Bike pricing options and the Citi Bike station map.
