The Public Interest/Public Service Council is a large group of senior Law School alumni who have fostered social change or protected the public good in meaningful ways, both in the United States and abroad. Council members are experts and leaders (past and present) in the public interest and government sectors, both in the U.S. and abroad.
Council members actively support Columbia’s core belief that serving the public interest should be part of the professional life of every student and graduate. Members are available to engage with current students or recent alumni to provide support or advice.
Please contact Erica Smock, Dean for Social Justice Initiatives and Public Service Lawyering, to get involved.

THE STONE CIRCLE originated as an informal group of Columbia Law School graduates and special friends whose affiliation with the Law School was established during the deanship (1910–1924) of Harlan Fiske Stone 1898. Their luncheons, held from time to time, by 1974 had become a formal, annual event to which we welcome members of classes who have celebrated the 50th anniversary of their graduation from the Law School.
