Optional Practical Training allows students with F-1 visa status permission to obtain lawful employment to work off-campus in their field of study after completion of degree.
Students with F-1 visa status have a five-month window in which to apply for post-completion OPT, starting with 90 days before the completion date of the degree (conferral date).
