Section Description

This seminar will be devoted to exploring some of the cutting-edge debates in technology law. Several technology law scholars will present works-in-progress over the course of the semester. The remainder of the class will be devoted to reading current debates in the field. The goals of the class include developing students’ expertise in the law of technology, exposing students to the work of a wide range of scholars, and developing students’ ability to evaluate and comment on legal scholarship. Students who have not taken a prior course on technology law are welcome. No prerequisite knowledge is required. The readings themselves will generally provide enough information about the relevant case law or statutory provisions so that additional reading will be unnecessary. Where that is not the case, supplemental background materials will be provided.

The first two class meetings will be Friday, September 5 and Friday, September 12.
