Section Description
This course surveys central issues in philosophy of law. These include the relationship between legality and morality, the duty to obey the law and its limits, the rule of law, and philosophical questions revolving around tort law, property law, and criminal law. Class will consist in a combination of lecture and discussion. No prior background in philosophy is assumed. Evaluation will be based on a combination of participation in discussion and a final exam.
