Section Description
The primary purpose of this seminar is to introduce students to the fundamental principles of international commercial arbitration and, for those already familiar with its basic features, to focus on the law and practice of arbitration in selected Latin American jurisdictions. Although the arbitration issues to be discussed focus mainly on international business disputes between private parties, the four last session of the seminar will focus on the critical components of investment arbitration as it relates to Latin America. The seminar relies in part on individual or group oral presentations provided by seminar participants.
This seminar is taught in Spanish every other year, but it will be taught in English this Spring semester of 2024
