Section Description
This course deals with topics that cannot receive sufficient attention in the basic constitutional law course: congressional and executive relations. The course will begin with the law governing election and removal of the president, as well as the president's amenability to civil and criminal process. The course will then center on the role of the president in the constitutional order, including matters such as the president's role as a "legislator" chief executive, and the constitutional allocation of powers in foreign affairs. The casebook is Shane, Bruff, and Kinkopf, Separation of Powers (4 ed. 2018).
