A Record-breaking Giving Day

Alumni and friends of Columbia Law demonstrated their generosity and community spirit on a Giving Day to remember.

Committed. Loyal. Supportive. The Columbia Law School community embraced these attributes and more during the 10th Annual Columbia Giving Day, on October 20, 2021. This 24-hour, university-wide event inspires Columbians and friends to make a difference by giving in support of our students and world-class faculty who are changing the world.

This Giving Day, Columbia Law School received a record-breaking 986 gifts—a 6.1% increase over 2020 and a 29% increase over 2019. Alumni and friends committed more than $1.8 million in support of the Law School Annual Fund.

The Law School was No. 1 in dollars raised among Columbia graduate schools and ranked as a leader in alumni participation, resulting in additional challenge funds for the Law School. Columbia Law influencers also participated on social media and showed their support throughout the day with posts of future Columbians, friends, pets, and memories of their days on campus.

Above all, the community demonstrated that every gift counts—and can make a real impact on the next generation of lawyers and leaders—in just one day.
