Raising the Bar: Giving Day 2022

With more than 1,000 gifts made, this year’s Giving Day proved to be another record-breaking year, thanks to the steadfast support of the Law School community.

On October 26, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends rose to the challenge and showed their commitment to Columbia Law School during the 11th Annual Columbia Giving Day. The 24-hour, university-wide event sparks friendly competition between schools, and more importantly, inspires Columbians to demonstrate their generosity and community spirit together on a single day.

This Giving Day, Columbia Law School received a record-breaking 1,007 gifts—a 2% increase over 2021 and an 8% increase over 2020. Alumni and friends committed more than $1.9 million in support of the Law School Annual Fund.

The Law School was No. 1 in dollars raised among Columbia graduate schools and ranked as a leader in alumni participation, resulting in additional challenge funds for the Law School. Columbia Law influencers—including adorable pets and future Columbians—also participated on social media.

But what makes Giving Day truly meaningful is the participation of hundreds of members of our community, on a single day, who share a singular purpose: to make a difference for students and faculty who are forces in the world.
