Professor Lori Fisler Damrosch Receives Grant from Columbia Global Innovation Fund

Funds Will Go Towards Organizing Major International Law Conference at Columbia Amman Global Center in Jordan
New York, May 14, 2015—​Columbia Law School Professor Lori Fisler Damrosch has been awarded a grant from the Columbia University 2015 President’s Global Innovation Fund to convene a major international law conference at the Columbia Amman Global Center in Jordan during the 2015-2016 academic year.

In organizing the conference, tentatively titled “International Legal Dialogue–Middle East and North Africa,” Damrosch plans to collaborate with colleagues at the Law School, the Columbia Amman Global Center, and the American Society of International Law (ASIL), together with local partners including the University of Jordan Law School and the Jordanian and Qatari Branches of the International Law Association.

Damrosch is the Hamilton Fish Professor of International Law and Diplomacy and 
president of the American Society of International Law.

The President’s Global Innovation Fund was established in 2013 to support faculty throughout the University who are developing projects that increase opportunities for research, teaching, and service around the world. Damrosch’s project was one of 16 selected by a review committee of senior faculty drawn from both the Morningside and medical campuses.​
