Latino/a Law Students Association’s 13th Annual Awards Banquet

The Columbia Law School Latino/a Law Students Association (CLS LaLSA) celebrated the accomplishments of students and alumni at its 13th Annual Awards Banquet at the Columbia University Club of New York on October 20.

Before more than 100 guests,  LaLSA presented its Distinguished Alumni Award to Ricardo “Rick” Martinez ’98, a partner at Hogan Lovells, and to United States District Judge Analisa Torres ’84 of the Southern District of New York. The Rising Star Award was given to Alida Garcia ’08, director of coalitions and policy at FWD.us, a social justice organization advocating on behalf of the technology community.

LaLSA’s mission is to promote understanding of the Latino community by sponsoring academic, professional, cultural, social, and community service activities for its members as well as Columbia Law School's general student body. LaLSA serves as a liaison between Latino/a students and the Columbia Law School administration, the general student body, alumni, and other professionals in the legal field.
