Inauguration Week at Columbia Law School

Here are the events that Columbia Law has planned for the days before and on Inauguration Day.

As Inauguration Day nears, the Columbia Law School community will be hosting several events analyzing the potential impact of the Trump administration. On Wednesday and Thursday, there will be panel discussions assessing the implications for women, minorities and democracy itself. On Friday, students, faculty members, and staff are also invited to view the inauguration live during two screenings in Jerome Greene Hall.

Wednesday, January 18th, 12:10 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

“What’s Next for American Democracy?: Law, Culture, and Policy in an Age of Trump”

Join Professors Tim Wu, Katharina Pistor, and Kristen Underhill for remarks and a discussion on the impact of the legal and policy priorities of the Trump administration.Watch parts of the panel discussion here:

 

Thursday, January 19th, 12:10 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Columbia Law Women's Association Post-Election Panel: Evaluating the Trump Administration
Jerome Greene Hall, Room 104

Professors Jessica Bulman-Pozen, Olatunde Johnson, and Solangel Maldonado will join us to discuss the incoming administration, with special emphasis on the implications of the election for women and minorities. The panel will be moderated by Jennifer Rodgers, executive director of the Law School’s Center for the Advancement of Public Integrity.

Join the Office of University Life for live coverage of the 2017 U.S. presidential inauguration, followed by a panel discussion featuring:

  • Lee Goldman, Dean of the Faculties of Health Sciences and Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center
