Barbara Aronstein Black Lectures on Women and Law

The Barbara Aronstein Black Lectures on Women and Law are named for our professor and former dean, Barbara Black. The organizing theme of the lectures is simple: interesting work about or by women in law. Funded by an alumna of the law school, the series is now in its sixth year. The lectures are generally held in the late afternoon, last an hour and a half (with questions), and are followed by a reception.

The fall schedule is as follows:

October 2: Professor Susan Okin, Martha Weeks Professor of Ethics in Society, Stanford University. Prof. Okin's topic will be "Multiculturalism and Feminism: No Simple Questions, No Simple Answers." The lecture will take place in Room 102 and begin at 4:30.

More about Prof. Okin can be found at http://polisci.stanford.edu/faculty/okin.html.

October 30: Professor Leti Volpp of the Washington School of Law, American University. Prof. Volpp's topic will be "Dependent Citizens and Marital Expatriates." The lecture will take place in Room 101 JGH and begin at 4:30.
